About

The President’s Club honors individuals that contribute tax-deductible gifts to the IETF of $1,000 or more annually. Your donation helps the IETF make great strides toward the goal of finding treatment and a cure for essential tremor.

Impact
The IETF values contributions in all amounts; however, sizeable contributions make a significant impact. It costs less administratively for the IETF to process a donation of $1,000 or more by 1 individual vs. $25 each contributed by 40 people. The value is the same; the impact is different. The IETF can focus less on fundraising and focus more on our mission.

Directed Giving
As a Club member, you choose what your tax-deductible contribution supports - research, education, or public awareness. You directly support the goal most important to you.

• Research
Help find new ET treatments and a cure by sponsoring major research initiatives. In 2011, a donor’s $5,000 contribution sponsored a research study. Programs include epidemiology studies, genetics and its role in ET, and research into the pathology of ET. These areas are extremely important to finding a treatment and cure.

• Education
Help the IETF educate people that have ET as well as the general public. Education brings about understanding and acceptance. Programs include providing free educational literature to individuals, healthcare providers and facilities, libraries, and schools. Additional programs involve educating those with ET in ways to cope, maintaining support groups nationwide, finding appropriate physicians, and providing trustworthy medical literature.

•Public Awareness
Help the IETF raise public awareness through targeted marketing and public relations programs. By positioning the IETF in front of the general public, funding agencies, and legislators, we can achieve goals to secure government funding and aid our mission to reach more people with information about ET.
